we think
if we let this one brick fall
we’ll lose the whole damn wall
Strength is not always a virtue
at times, it is a symptom
of holding too tightly
to the security blanket
the comforting inconsequence
of apparent control
Strength, which wears the muscle
of mental and emotional strain
bears the burden of buried
insecurities and inadequacy
that are sure to expose
in time
Strength requires the tearing down
breaking, rebuilding, healing
unrelenting resistance
paired with rest
humility and wisdom to accept
what will be
