NaPoWriMo: Day 16

Prompt: a poem of over-the-top compliments.

You are bold as a toddler who’s just learned new words
Clever as a con-man crafting his lie

You are charming as a suitor with a pebble in hand
Earnest as a hatchling learning how to fly

You are calming as a lungful of lavender and mint
Agile as a lioness at hunt in the savannah

You are gentle as a leaf swept away in the storm
Lucky as the shamrock on your crumpled blue bandana

You are kind as the cookies left on your front porch
Honest as the waistline of a dancer in her prime

You are strong as the tree branch that holds a tire swing
Sweet as the accidental, homemade berry wine
