Not A #BragStatus

Some nights you get to the end of the day and look back, and are just plain overwhelmed with gratitude. That is what I am feeling tonight. Just very grateful, and happy. Grateful to be living comfortably, to be getting an education. Grateful for a kind and loving family who I have the opportunity and means to serve and spend time with. Grateful for wonderful friends, old and new. Grateful for the Gospel in my life, and the blessing of personal revelation. Grateful for the gifts and talents and growth opportunities that have been granted to me.

I received a bookmark when I was in Young Women’s which read:

“Happiness is a grateful heart.”

I kept it for years (in my locker, my scriptures, on my mirror, etc.) because it really struck me. I still honestly believe it. When we take the time to look at our lives and choose to be grateful, it is incredibly hard (if not impossible) to be unhappy. We are very blessed, each of us, because we are loved by our Heavenly Father. His only wish is for us to open our eyes to the joy and blessings we have. 🙂

And it pleaseth God that he hath given all these things unto man; for unto this end were they made to be used…

And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments. …

But learn that he who doeth the works of righteousness shall receive his reward, even peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come.
